Socialight Team Program Guidelines

Thank you for signing up to be a part of the Socialight Team!

We are grateful for you and for your willingness to partner with us to support social workers who are advocating for the vulnerable children in our city. 

Handwritten notes, encouraging texts, Lunch & Learn events, office treats, birthday cards, and more! 

Socialight team members cheer on child welfare professionals as they stand in the gap for children and families in crisis. Socialights will have the opportunity to serve collectively throughout the year by writing thank you cards, helping host events, preparing gift baskets and treats, delivering fun goodies to social workers at their office, and so much more!

Choose the opportunities that best fit your schedule and availability.  

Examples of Socialight Team Service Opportunities:

  • Serve at a Lunch & Learn event at the CFK Homebase (2 hours) 

  • Drop off gifts and treats at local DSS offices (1-2 hours) 

  • Write and send birthday cards to social workers who have opted into the program (1-2 hours) 

  • Prepare and wrap gifts for social workers during Social Worker Appreciation Month or for We See You (2 hours) 

  • Volunteer at the Summer Socialight Drive-Thru, We See You, and/or Merry Market (2-4 hours) 

  • Bring or sent breakfast treats for social workers attending CFK events (1 hour) 

Communication:

  • The Socialight Coordinator will communicate the Team Serve Opportunities to the Socialight Team at least once a month.

  • We will utilize a volunteer sign-up link for all events.

  • Please communicate with the Socialight Coordinator if you cannot fulfill a commitment or project for which you may sign up.

Commitment:  

  • We ask Socialight Team members to commit to 6 hours of service per calendar year.

  • You can accumulate these hours through a variety of serve events and opportunities and even by providing donations when needed. 

  • Each Socialight Team service opportunity will outline how many service hours it includes.

  • At the end of the calendar year, you will have the opportunity to renew your commitment or to step down from the team for the new year.
