F.A.Q.s
We know you may have a lot of questions about Life in Limbo, we try to answer a few of the top questions right here - but feel free to reach out to our team at info@cfknc.org with anything else you might be curious about.
I don't like to act, can I still benefit?
Don't worry, this isn't a performance or an acting gig. This training will instead walk you through an activity meant to simulate a piece of the foster care journey. You will have an opportunity to share about your experience or response to the activity during group discussions, if you are comfortable.
Won't I look silly if I don't know what to do?
Good news, everyone in attendance will be participating together through a variety of simulated activities and we tell you exactly what to do, step-by-step. There's no script, no prep work, and no experience needed. We will all be in this together. The vulnerability is what makes this experience so powerful.
What part will I play?
During check-in for the event, you will have the opportunity to select an available role - the child in foster care, the biological parent who has a child removed, or a foster parent who opens their home to a child in care. Our team will help you take into account any previous experience you have with the foster care system when you select your role.
Why should I give "Limbo" a try?
You've heard the saying about walking in another person's shoes? 'Life in Limbo' takes this proverb to heart and aims to help its participants look at things from a new perspective, gain appreciation for different people involved in each foster care story and develop/grow in compassion for those actually living out the scenarios this activity is meant to simulate.
