WHAT: Help stabilize vulnerble kids in foster care by meeting immediate, tangible one-time needs on our CAREnow platform.

WHY: One need met through CAREnow can reduce trauma, protect a child, stabilize a home, support a social worker, build trust, fill a gap, eliminate a barrier, lessen a burden, remove stress and keep a family together.

HOW: Visit our CAREnow portal to view immediate needs today.

WHAT: “Adopt” a social worker through our Socialight program. Spend the next year finding fun ways to encourage your social worker through notes, texts, or even a small gift here and there. (Gifts not required)

WHY: Child welfare professionals are essentail in protecting our city’s most vulnerable children. Their job is hard and turnover is high. Children are 4x more likely to achieve permanency when they have one social worker compared to when there is turnover.

HOW: Sign up to become a Socialight.

COMMITMENT LEVEL: LOW to MED (Approx. 15 mins/month for a 1+ year commitment)

WHAT: CFK has many different volunteer opportunities throughout the year. This could look like stuffing gift bags, wrapping gifts for youth in care, serving at a lunch for social workers, taking youth on a field trip, or renovating visitation rooms at DSS.

WHY: Everyone can do something and we want to provide an opportunity for you to engage with kids in foster care. We can’t do this work without the help of the community.
